Second time around…

Well, here’s hoping I manage to get it right the second time around. I’m leaving tomorrow on a redux of the trip I was too sick to go on last month. Mercifully, I’m feeling well and it’s possible that this will be my last big trip before the job swap takes place. I’m not holding my breath on that one, though. Seems no matter what my job is, I’m always needed somewhere other than where I happen to be at the time. After a long weekend of waging war on my back yard and getting it primed for spring, I think I am ready for a nice quiet boondoggle. Talk to you from Kansas City… Or from the airport if I see something that just demands an immediate rant.

Casting call…

I’ve had the feeling for a while that I’m getting pretty repetitive on this thing… That the font of new blog ideas has been running towards empty. Being a creature of habit, new and interesting stories can get a little tough to find. I’ve got a couple of ideas in the works… like my 2008 presidential endorsement, but those aren’t quite ready for print just yet. Like I said, I just feel like I’m running out of Class A material. So, I’m going to throw open the door and take some requests… If you’ve got something you’d like to see a rant about or even just something I can assert a holier-than-thou position on, let me know and I’ll try to accommodate. Yeah, that ought to be interesting…

A little neglected…

I’m feeling a bit like I have been neglecting my bloggly duties lately. The simple truth is there’s really very little going on that is worth of noting, let alone actually recounting after the fact. I’m thoroughly back into the groove of work, class, and home maintenance and while usually all three are filled with potential fodder, it’s been a very, very quiet week. I should probably be enjoying it, but I can’t quite shake the feeling that there is another shoe up there waiting to drop.

Due outs…

It seems like there has been a good deal of traffic around here while I was away. And I notice a lot of comments, messages, and such that I need to get back to. Rest assured that I’m not ignoring anyone and I’ll get back to you as soon as I possibly can. It’s amazing how much backlog there is after ignoring class, email, and my beloved blog for six days. I’m wading through class now and seem to be about caught up. As for email and blogging, I’m hoping to get back in the swing of things over the weekend. It’s taking a bit longer than I anticipated to get back up to full speed and frankly, I’m still feeling a bit too relaxed to bitch about much.

Closed for Maintenance…

This blog will be temporarily closed to allow for the maintenance of its writer for the next few days. I’m planning on spending some quality time, hopefully offline, somewhere warm and sunny for the next few days. Good company, good location, and a low key retreat from the world are just what I’m looking for at the moment. Unless I feel a great urge to share, I should be this time next week before I’m back in full operation.

See you then.

Returning to regular programming…

The last few days have been an effort to clear out the photographic backlog I’ve managed to build up. Happily, I seem to have gotten through all of the at this point, so I am free to get back to my first passion… bitching about random subjects here on the internet. It’s good to get back to basics.

My alarm system is obviously still on the fritz, my dentist is trying to micromanage my health, and it’s a pain in the ass to get a doctor’s office to return your call in this town. Other than that, just a typical early Sunday morning working through a backlog of mail and bills. As you can see, it’s another exciting Sunday on tap here on the banks of the Big Muddy.

10,000+

I’ve been giddy with anticipation for this event (Yes, I know I’m a geek, so sue me). I’ve been obsessively checking MySpace all evening and I’m finally ready to announce that tonight my little corner of the internet passed the 10,000 views mark. You people have had nothing better to do than check in on my maniacal ranting 10,000 times. Let’s think about that for a minute, shall we?

So, tonight, I’d like to thank all of you readers who keep coming back day after day for making me a little part of your daily routine. I hope you’ve enjoyed reading as much as I’ve enjoyed writing it. And while I won’t promise limitless new and interesting content, I hope that I can at least manage say something interesting or even something insightful from time to time.

So here’s to you Mr. and Ms. MySpace Blog Reader. Let’s try this again at 20,000.
